A gentle gift for your journey into Awakened Sleep Retreat —
A 6 day – 5 night luxury retreat for those ready to release pressure, reconnect with themselves, and live, love, and lead with greater presence.
You may have arrived here because your body is tired of carrying what your mind keeps calling manageable—and because some quiet, honest part of you knows that something must change.
Maybe you are the one everyone depends on. You answer the call, solve the problem, hold the family, lead the team and keep moving. From the outside, you look capable. Inside, you may feel tired, disconnected, lonely or constantly on.
The people you love may still receive your care, but not always your presence. You may be beside them while your mind remains somewhere else—solving, planning, bracing. The Return luxury retreat offers a compassionate interruption: time to hear yourself, feel yourself and remember that your life is meant to be lived, not merely managed.
Mother Earth will meet you here through warm rain, volcanic ground, moving water, birdsong and green life. There will be depth, but also laughter, beauty, delicious meals, friendship and the forgotten pleasure of having nowhere else to be.
Your body is asking for rest, truth, and a way home to yourself
🌙 So many people rely on you that you have forgotten what it feels like to be supported.
🌙 Your body is asking you to slow down, but your mind continues planning, solving, and carrying.
🌙 You want to be more present with the people you love, yet part of you is always thinking about what comes next.
🌙 You understand the value of rest, mindfulness, or personal growth, but struggle to make them part of everyday life.
🌙 You want to respond with greater clarity and love instead of reacting from pressure or fear.
🌙 You miss feeling connected to your joy, your needs, and the person you are beneath your responsibilities.
At The Return, you will not be expected to carry everything alone. Liv and Sarah will guide a thoughtful progression from body and breath to emotional awareness, meaningful connection, and integration for real life.
If your body softened while reading this, it may already know what your mind is still debating
Imagine waking beneath Arenal Volcano with nowhere to rush.
Rainforest air moves through the trees. Your breath deepens. Your body no longer has to compete with a list of demands for your attention.
Across six intentional days, you begin to hear yourself more clearly.
You remember that strength can include receiving, leadership can begin with listening, and joy does not have to be earned after everything else is finished.
Rise in Divine Courage. Lead with Love. Be the Light. Infinitely Free
— Cynthia Crummer – Moon Gate Founder

The Return luxury retreat is guided by four living qualities. Through movement, breathwork, yoga, meditation, self-inquiry, nature, ceremony, and sound healing, each becomes an embodied practice you can carry into everyday life.
CALM • EARTH | Recognize pressure and return to steadiness within your body.
CONNECTION • ROOTS | Listen to your needs and meet others with greater presence.
COURAGE • SUN | Meet uncertainty with trust, clarity, and grounded action.
COMPASSION • MOON | Soften judgment and respond to yourself and others with tenderness and care.
Moon Gate is a nature sanctuary… a space for feeling safe, like a warm hug. It was an incredible day for connection with others and healing for myself
— Allison
In La Fortuna, Arenal Volcano’s quiet power meets lush rainforest and mineral-rich hot springs. Here, the earth offers both strength and softness—a place to feel grounded, soak in soothing warmth, and slow down.
Protected forests shelter an extraordinary web of life. Watching wildlife invites curiosity and presence, while the surrounding ecology reminds us that well-being depends on connection—and caring for what sustains us.
Costa Rica’s Pura Vida spirit invites appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. At The Return, this comes alive through nourishing meals, unhurried conversations, shared laughter, and time in nature—gentle reminders to welcome more joy and connection into everyday life.
Throughout the retreat, Mother Earth becomes a gentle teacher: an invitation to listen to your body, honor your rhythms, and make space for renewal.

The earth has been waiting beneath every hurried step, ready to remind you that you are still here
MOON GATE WELLNESS SANCTUARY

Where the shared journey comes alive
Beneath Arenal Volcano, Moon Gate brings together the practices, ceremonies, nourishing meals, and meaningful connections of The Return.
AMOR ARENAL

Your private refuge. Luxury in the rainforest.
Return to your secluded Canyon Casita, where thoughtful comfort and warm hospitality give you space to rest and let the day’s experiences settle.

Sometimes the first medicine is simply feeling safe enough to exhale.
Pure Trek Canyoning Waterfall Rappelling invites you to experience courage through your body: receiving guidance, trusting yourself, and taking one step at a time.
Surrounded by waterfalls, birdsong, and lush rainforest, you will rappel with trained guides who check your equipment and explain each descent. No previous rappelling experience is needed, and shared encouragement makes room for laughter, connection, and celebration.
This adventure offers a reminder you can carry home: strength includes accepting support. Each descent is an opportunity to discover what becomes possible when you meet uncertainty with trust.
Beyond the sanctuary, we also went waterfall rappelling with Pure Trek. It was a truly life-changing experience. Pushing past our limits while scaling waterfalls was both exhilarating and empowering. At 64 years old, I’ve never felt more alive. I absolutely plan to return

For people accustomed to caring for everyone else, being nourished can feel unexpectedly emotional. Here, the table becomes a daily reminder that you are also worthy of attention, beauty and care.
You are invited to sit down, release the need to manage what comes next, and receive what has been thoughtfully prepared for you.
The culinary experience brings Ayurvedic wisdom into conversation with Costa Rica’s tropical abundance. Fresh, locally sourced ingredients—with an emphasis on organic and farm-to-table nourishment—are transformed into vibrant meals featuring tropical fruits, vegetables, herbs, roots, spices, and nutrient-rich plants. Traditional wisdom meets creative tropical fusion, allowing familiar flavors and more unexpected ingredients to share the same table.
At Chandra, Moon Gate’s open-air culinary sanctuary, nourishment is experienced with all the senses. Colors are bright, aromas rise from the table, rainforest air moves through Chandra, and every plate feels connected to the earth from which it came.
Some meals may unfold through conversation and laughter; others may invite silence and a deeper awareness of flavor, breath, and gratitude.
“Dining at Chandra was an experience in itself. The Ayurvedic-inspired meals were exceptional, nourishing, flavorful, and clearly made with deep care and expertise. Moon Gate is the embodiment of luxury wellness with soul. It carries a pure, grounded, and heartfelt energy that you can feel the moment you arrive.”
— Bridie Bartlett
This is not a schedule to conquer. Each day opens gradually, creating space for movement and stillness, meaningful teaching and joyful discovery, courageous action and deep rest. You will begin with birdsong, move beneath the open sky, gather around beautiful tables, and return each evening with time to let the experience settle.
Arrive in the rainforest and feel the pace of life begin to change. Walk the Trail of Senses, enjoy a welcoming aperitivo, and gather for your first dinner together. As faces become familiar and stories are shared, your body receives its first message: you are here, and you are held.
Begin the day beneath the open sky with blessing, movement, and breath. Through guided teachings, reflection, and embodied practice, you will quiet the outside noise and begin listening to the wisdom that has been waiting within your own body.
Enter the rainforest for a joyful encounter with courage through Pure Trek Canyoning. Guests drawn to a quieter path may choose artisan jewelry-making. The day closes as Sound Healing invites the body into rest.
Explore the meeting point between action and receptivity, strength and softness, direction and intuition. Experience the Divine Masculine and Divine Feminine as living energies—and consider how a more balanced way of leading could feel in your body and your life.
Step into the rainforest slowly. Forest Immersion, Cacao Ceremony, and sacred practice create space to release what has completed its purpose, honor what has changed, and welcome the person emerging beneath old patterns.
Meet the final morning with movement, breath, and gratitude. Gather the practices, promises, relationships, and wisdom you wish to carry forward. The circle closes gently as The Return begins to live through your choices, relationships, and leadership at home.

You are not coming here to do more. You are coming here to feel more alive

Her Be Human Medicine framework meets Sarah’s ISHTA Yoga lineage, creating a continuous journey through breath, movement, meditation, self-inquiry, and embodied practice.
Together, they make Vedic philosophy intimate and practical, exploring the solar and lunar qualities within every person—action and receptivity, direction and intuition, strength and softness. These are not fixed gender roles, but complementary energies whose integration invites greater wholeness.
Their guidance does not ask you to perform healing; it creates the conditions for your own wisdom to become easier to hear.

Come home to the warm, nourishing embrace of Mother Earth and your own body. Returning is remembering that there is nowhere else to go and no one else to become. The destination has always been within you.
— Sarah Platt Finger
That is welcome here. A meaningful decision deserves clear information, honest expectations, and enough space to recognize what feels true for you.
Not at all. Every practice will be guided, and options will be offered for different levels of experience, mobility, and comfort. You are not expected to arrive knowing how to do anything. You are simply invited to arrive open and willing to listen to your body.
Yes. The Return is an inclusive, mixed-gender experience.
The sacred masculine and sacred feminine are explored as universal capacities within every person—qualities such as strength and softness, action and receptivity, direction and intuition. They are not presented as fixed gender roles.
Absolutely. Many guests come to retreats on their own.
The experience is intentionally designed to create meaningful connection without requiring you to arrive with a partner or know anyone in advance. You will have the warmth of a small community alongside the privacy and spaciousness needed for your own journey.
Taking time to restore your capacity for presence, joy, and connection is not a withdrawal from the people you love. It can be a meaningful investment in how you return to them.
This retreat is deeply personal, but what you practice here can influence how you listen, communicate, make decisions, lead, and love long after you return home.
Pure Trek Canyoning is a professionally guided rainforest adventure that includes walking through a private canyon and rappelling beside waterfalls.
No previous rappelling or canyoning experience is required. Trained guides provide the technical equipment, safety instructions, and close support you need to move through the experience one step—and one descent—at a time.
It is a physical adventure, so guests should be comfortable walking on uneven terrain and able to follow the guides’ safety instructions. We will provide detailed participation requirements before the retreat and invite you to share any health or mobility concerns with us in advance.
For guests who prefer a quieter experience, an artisan jewelry-making journey at Moon Gate will be offered. Both experiences are designed to explore courage, presence, and trust in different ways.
Rain is part of life in the rainforest—and part of its beauty.
May marks the beginning of Costa Rica’s green season, when passing showers nourish the landscape and bring the forest and waterfalls fully alive. Most activities will continue when conditions are safe, and our team will adjust timing or locations if the weather requires a change.
We recommend bringing a lightweight rain jacket, compact umbrella, quick-drying clothing, and a second pair of shoes. The complete packing guide will be included in your pre-arrival materials.
Not in the way many guests imagine, although Moon Gate and Amor Arenal are surrounded by a living tropical ecosystem.
You may occasionally encounter insects outdoors, especially during forest walks, in the evenings, or after rainfall. Both properties are carefully maintained, and most guests find the insects far less noticeable than expected. We recommend bringing an insect repellent you already know and feel comfortable using.
Costa Rica is warm and tropical, with sunshine, humidity, and occasional rain. We recommend packing:
We will send registered guests a complete pre-arrival guide, including clothing recommendations for each activity and specific guidance for Pure Trek Canyoning.
Most guests arriving directly from the United States, Canada, or Europe will not need to present a vaccination certificate to enter Costa Rica.
However, proof of yellow fever vaccination may be required when arriving from or traveling through certain designated countries. Because requirements depend on your itinerary and can change, every guest should review Costa Rica’s official entry requirements before traveling and consult a healthcare professional regarding personal health recommendations.
Visa requirements depend on the passport you hold. Citizens of the United States, Canada, and most European countries generally do not need a visa for a short tourist visit.
Every guest must travel with a valid passport and proof of onward or return travel. We recommend having at least six months of validity remaining on your passport and confirming the requirements that apply to your nationality before booking international flights.
Yes. You are welcome to arrive before the retreat or extend your time in Costa Rica afterward.
